Hi,

Speedo working all fine and odometer working, no not working, yes working... sure you get the idea. Both trip and total will stick, but then be ok. Repair/replace, appreciate sealed units so can't even WD40 (or equivalent)... Any advice welcome.

Cheers,

Stewart

Re: Sticking odometer...

A common problem with the 460 speedo I believe.

When my speedo needle also stated to malfunction I sent mine off for an overhaul at Speedy Cables.

Cost £160 ish and came back looking like new and working as it should - but it took them nearly 3 months!

A common problem with the 460s. Not quite sure what causes it, Worn out gear?, But I found that if you avoid resetting the odometer it works longer before it stops again and it starts on  its own accord when it feels like it.

Yes, the internal plastic (nylon) gears wear out. You can open the unit for repair, but it will most likely damage the bezel as you work your way around to un-crimp it from the back.
