Is it sitting a bit low at the back?
Rare, but has it seen a bit of paint? Looks very shiny?
Which fire brigade?

Which fire brigade?
West Sussex
They have / had 6 '99 and 6 '00 appliances and that one '01 Command Vehicle... all 290gdt Puchs
It's a great piece of UK G wagen history. If things had been different there could have been may of those imported
they have or had some nice Pinzgaurs too same supplier
Have they just sold the Command Vehicle or whole lot?
Dorset fire brigade had a 290 fire tender..they keep them for years.they also had a series 2 landrover fire tender they still used for fires on moors..low flame bracken fires..i doubt they will unload those anytime soon, due to expense and amount of use.
Yes
Supplied to West Sussex Fire and Rescue.
They have 12 others, Super Gs, twincabs with body on back. This was the only standard G they had and was used as a TRU. It was on lease and went back in in December 2013, others are all owned. It had done 114k and something when it went back and had no mechanical problems.
It is registered as a fire engine and is tax exempt, it will therefore need to be re-registered as a PLG.
It went through Brightwells in July and made 8k. It was then booked back in a couple of weeks ago but withdrawn at the last minute.
It has now turned up there and they have let a monkey repaint it.
As well as the holes on the rear panels it has a number of holes on the roof.
Worth about 10k, no more.
Oh, and it is not direct. It wasn't direct when sold by Brightwells.

WS have 12, no plans to sell.
Hampshire have two.
Didn't know Dorset had one.
Just that one, went back because only one on lease. Others owned and no plans to sell. They have only done 10 to 15k.
...and the wheels.
I don't think they have done themselves any favours. They should have left it as it was. I am thinking about how much it will cost to undo their meddling.
I've been looking through my files trying to find any images of this one when we first brought it in to supply West Sussex Fire and Rescue, but no luck yet. The original colour, as specified by WS was a much deeper Alfa Romeo red, same as the twelve Super G models we supplied, and, to be honest, it looked gorgeous. We used to stand around in the workshop and drool over it. Well, I did, anyway.
That was about the time we started building Pinzgauers in Guildford, so the Steyr Puch badged G-Wagens fell by the wayside as far as we were concerned, particularly as MBUK then decided they wanted to start pushing them again. Also the decision had been taken at high level to discontinue SDP badged models in the few markets they were originally available in.
All water under the proverbial bridge now.....
Thanks, thought someone making some money here.

Excuse my ignorance but what dose that mean? It's not a term I've heard before.
I've heard of injection direct or indirect ?
