Dear All

Has anyone ever fitted a double din unit to a 1999 G Wagon, i am looking to have Sat Nav and rear camera hence the double din unit

i would imagine you would have to move the diff lock switches and make a custom centre panel, would like some advise please

Regards

Freddie

Re: Stereo

I'd look for an 'i-Pad' type  install kit and mount it high up, as on the latest G's. Even on the 2001-2006 range of G's based on the C-class interior, the COMAND screen is too low to be of much use. Parrot used to have some with separate screens.

Re: Stereo

You can get single din units that have a fold out screen:-

There are other makes/models available.

You really don't want to move diff lock switch, a mass of wires!

Re: Stereo

Not likely to need to use diff lock switches that often when screen is in up position. If you did want access then you'd have to pop screen back into it's hiding place.

I agree though - maybe it's too low down for screen to be of much use when driving along.
