To be honest if I could get my hands on a RHD SWB 500 I wouldn't care what colour it was. I already have two silver cars, but my G is red, and I rather like it.
I’m seriously considering an FX70
red or burgundy anyday...
Agree that the silver ones are best, although I could be slightly biased.
Also agree that Silver Machine is a great song. Roadhawks is one of my favourite Hawkwind Albums, so bit biased there too....
just got the super g cab back from the paint shop / i have gone for an update on the factory merc astral silver to a honda silver with a tiny hint of blueness - very pleased with the effect looks a lot more contemporary .
now to assemble this beast ...

just to prove the point here are some silver and blue 'things' (mr.b makes the door look tiny)
If you needed a loo roll that big you would certainly have a guppy tummy 
Going back to the original post of silver G Wagens.....it is a great color. However, any color looks good on a G....but silver is in the top 5.
My top 5 would be :-
1. Gun metal grey
2. Astral Silver
3. Burgandy
4. Metalic Green
5. Black
no doubt others will have a top 5
