Bilstein!! Can't remember if it was GSF or ECP had good price on rear shocks but front bad news price wise! Just remember to coat upper threads in something to stop rust or absolute pig to remove at a later date( back)

Re: shocking shocks

I've researched this quite a bit and concluded not that much to choose between them with any of the single chamber. Bilstein probably best of the OEM category bunch, slightly firmer ride, 2 versions black (OEM std) and Blue/ Yellow (firmer still). These are probably what you want if springs are stock and not used extensively off-road/ abused - frankly I don't think you'll notice a great deal of difference (note that often people think that firmer shocks will solve body roll - which they largely wont, you need bigger sway bars/ different arrangements for bracing chassis/ suspension).

Beyond that Koni Raid (twin chamber) or (for seirous abuse) Raid HT are next step up. Bigger diameter, will fit with some persuasion; no/ limited ability to change setup though.  Beyond that (> £250-£500+ a side), King, Fox and Ohlins (Mmmmmmm) are competition shocks with varying degrees of custyomisability, adjustability, multi-stage valving and all-round greatness.
