?Scam? or real advert
I had a G400cdi some years ago, and paid big money for it, but this one seems way way cheap at £13k.
What do you lot think?

Who knows, sounds too good though.
London post code, Great Yarmouth number, parked near a Norfolk training services place.
Might go and see it. :)
Hmmm.... so advertised as a 350, but also a 3.0, then the seller says it's a Twin turbo 4 litre?
No mention of it being LHD either... could be why it's cheaper?
Not sure on this..
It looks straight?
G400CDI are LHD only
Never brought in to the UK so would not be on the Autotrader drop down option so can understand picking G350 2011 as opposed to 300GD 199X or maybe G320CDI 1995 if it was on?
Same issue when you come to insure it i guess...
The reg does not show at MB, but probably its come off a private number?
How many more do you see over here for sale? Could just be a dealer that does not know what he has and somebody might get a decently priced G for a change?!?! Who knows!!!
Only 2 owners i know of, Yvonne, Mike if you read this, is it priced too cheap?
Gav
sorry but i aint too convinced....
its too good to be true. would be interesting to find out what you say mark if you went and viewed it.

Well it's easily solved, give him a ring and arrange to see it. If you get a BS story...then walk away.
Maybe the engine is stuffed and he wants to off load it. Ideal for a diesel engine conversion
Joe probably thinks it's the right price
They are already diesel v 8 cdi the truck will be stuffed with can bus electronics. They are a well known engine for giving big problems and the mileage is getting there for it happening. Either way worthy of a phone call just to see. Just be careful it is not a ringer or a 'write off' from Europe or hiding some horrendous mechanical problems, hence the overly cheap price.
Attached is a pic taken from P3 forum. The guy is changing timing chains on a 400cdi. Not my idea of a straight forward job.
With Great Yarmouth only being a short trip round the coast i have rang the number to try and arrange a viewing to no avail!
If anyone does get through and gets a location of the truck please give me a shout.
It looks a great truck from the photo's.
Thanks
Tim
The Sterling price equates to about €16,500.
Here is one in Germany for €19,000 with lower mileage:

So it could maybe be legit.
They are notorious for electronic trouble. Get friendly with your local nerd
Eddie.
just been on the phone with eddie , we both agree that this particular model is rather the 'unloved' member of the G family due to electronic gremlins and its rather fragile engine with the turbos in between the 'v' of the engine .
a money pit if you get a wrong'un . cheap price could well feel very expensive very quickly as there is no official support for this engine in the uk , when this g gets old and with high miles it may not work anymore ....
I think this is an example of what the post 2001 Gs are worth when their time is up. Engine is too expensive and complex for most people to fix. All the rest of the stuff is digitally controlled. However the drivetrain and body are still good for years to come.
You need to be able to replace the engine with one that requires little or no electronics, and get the CAN systems operating with the engine ecu removed including the gearbox.
Price changed to £21950. Looks like he got his numbers mixed up.

A dysxleic scummer hood da tot?
Hang on a Mo. we had a member last year doing up her 400 - kyrad - and did a nice job too! I hope her lack of posting is that its not broken down .
Maybe, if she is reading this she would care to comment? On Paper its the best mix - v8 turbo and diesel - shame it LHD only.

Here's another G400CDI.
