Sad day - My G55 AMG is for sale

due to a job change and long commute I have finally come to terms with having to sell my G. I am gutted but I hope it goes to a good home.

Only one in UK in Cubanite Silver. Build date Apr 2007. 2 keys plus 2 key blades for access. My car since Nov 2015, bought in Dubai and used there before importing it.
Lived most of its life in dry climate with absolutely immaculate underside - no corrosion/rust. Serviced by Silber Arrows in Dubai and Saluki Motorsports, highly renowned specialists. Serviced by Staithes Garage in UK. Quilted interior and G63 bumpers with DRL and AMG updated wheels. comes with bullbar as original but blanking plates for clear look are included. Very tidy bodywork.

(free supercharging forever means free long commute vs 16 MPG on motorway at nun's speed with the G).

True. But 25 isn't going to cut it. I need 50MPG for a 400 mile x week requirement from April.
I am still thinking of keeping the G and buying a diesel shed to do the commute. Something like a 520 d.

Yes, that might be an option. Insurance is steep now. I have a few weeks to ponder what to do. On LPG, I see the logic but not sure I want to lose luggage space and start modifying the engine. If it were the smaller petrol engine, I'd possibly do it.
Not sure you would have to modify the engine to convert to lpg - although you would have to have new injection holes drilled for the gas injectors. The lpg tank could go underneath if you reduce the size of the petrol tank.
You'd have to calculate how long it would take to recoup the conversion costs probably around £2500
So, a few months later I still have the G55 and I'm using an old BMW Alpina D3 as mile muncher.
Given the lack of use the G has to go. I will service it in the next couple of weeks and then move it on.

As always, I think the price is OK, you just need a buyer who has the money. When there is a buyer, they just need to see yours.
