R.I.P. David Grix
Very sad to hear David has passed away. Here he is in his element...(he'd be keen to point out that he's the handsome one on the right). Taken 10 years ago in southern Algeria en route to Tamanrasset, which he'd waited 30 some years to visit after his first attempt failed in the sixties. We made it.
What a brilliant picture.
great pic chris . cheers mate!
how old was david ?
Thanks Chris. It was talking with you and David one night in the pub that gave me the confidence to drive to Moroc
Fantastic pics Chris. More please!
Eddie.
Both great pictures, especially the first one.
Fantastic pictures that can only inspire you. Would love to see more.....
I'm sure the diaries of these adventures would make great reading and a true legacy.
I was lucky enough to view the truck and the specification was immense and mind blowing.
lets hope the adventures continue with the lucky new owner.

could you or anyone that new david well write an article on his life, who he was, family ,what he did for a living , why he chose the G , how long was he a member here?

I never met David but I have this on my pc in my favorite G Wagon pictures folder, obviously from the same trip, inspiring stuff!
Yes, that's from the same trip. Hadi standing by my car. He and David were very close and a very entertaining double act at times especially when they squabbled;)
If I remember rightly David was god father to Hadi's youngest son.
Sounds like a fantastic trip, did you or David ever write it up?
Thanks for that, I think it would be a nice idea for the article be posted up for everyone to read? I wonder if someone (perhaps one of the administrators?) could do this? I've been trying to locate iy but I haven't found it so far.
[quote=peter perfect]An article has already been discussed as a tribute to David..I have agreed to compile this article on behalf of the new owner of his G..it would be a pleasure to do so..given pictures and text.seeing those photos actually brings a tear to my eye..a lovely unassuming gentle man.[/q

I am raising my (now empty) glass to him in a toast.
God bless.
Another personal goal for David was to drive into the tropics. Here we are on the Tropic of Cancer.
