Where is the red line on the 463 300 Diesel engine?....IS 5ooo revs safe over long distances?

Max rpm
5000 RPM is the max RPM. It is governed so you can't go any further. At 5000 my G is doing 100 MPH I can only hold that on a flat with no wind. I sure wouldn't want to hold it there for long and I don't think I could as any slope would reduce it. However I can hold 85-90 for hours which is 4500 and the temp gauge stays on normal.

Problem is also that at THAT speed your G drinks like a eskimo hooker!
Still better than my petrol G that only does 12 mpg.......what is the red line?
