Restored G versus new
I came across this link about the joys of a restored 460 compared to mod-cons.
If you can find and afford it, a restoration is a great thing.

A lot of money when you can buy a base ex military one for £10,000 or less,

I think your pricing might be a bit out of date !
I quite fancied building one of these fancy convertibles (like the blue one below) out of a military Wolf and Jackson's quoted me £19,000 for the low mileage Wolf in the photo and £15,000 for a pretty rough one.
Wow, hell of a price, makes the French P4's that were around a couple of years back lokk like bargains of the century, thanks DougThese are now Euro 15.000 http://www.europemilitary.com/fr/peugeot-p4_15.html

Paul that's actually quite a rare long wheelbase soft top. With a bit of work It could be converted with two rows of front facing passenger seats making it a comfortable six seater convertible G (see photos).
I do like it and seeing one always reminds me of a white diesel convertible I missed buying in the early noughties, my fault I wasnt prepared to take a risk and it wasn't much money either, long b4 the prices took off and became stupid
Spending $90k on a pimped 90HP Wolf only makes sense in an overly enthusiastic moment. A severe hangover is guaranteed thereafter.
I could not find the thread on the forum but I remember that recently a restored 300 convertible (with a 606 conversion?) failed to sell at auction at ~ £35k.
