Hello,

I am new to the G-wagon community and have a few questions for those more familiar with G wagon body repair.

Has anyone here had any experience of the galvanized replacement body panels available for the G wagon. I am a bit concerned that the quality might not be very good. I am particularly looking at the back door skin and the 5 door rear door lower sections.

Also does anyone know if the front top spring mounts for a w463 are available as a separate part to the main frame as this may save some time repairing the originals.

Kind regards

John

Re: Replacement body panels
Buy the genuine panels the fit of the pattern ones is flaky and they need a lot of fettling to fit and then the lines in the body are not quite right. Spring platforms and shock mounts all available separately.

Re: Replacement body panels

Genuine is always better, issue i see is that MB do not do Door Bottom repair panels and only do Full Doors  £££

The Galv repair section do a job

Speak with Scouse G (Graham) or Needamerc (Eddie) or see Ballcock (Barney)

Supply, Self Fit and Body Shop Fit respectively

Re: Replacement body panels

Thank you for the advise. Is anyone able to point me in the direction of the MB part numbers for the w463 boot floor panel and the front chassis spring and shock mounts as I am finding it difficult to locate these on the various on line part diagrams. My MB dealer couldn't find the spring mounts either.

Many thanks

John

Hi John

Where in God's country are you? I'm in Howden...

Attached pics that may help you....

The parts you want are not listed as spares for the 463...

PM me your chassis number and i will send details, even better if you have a red banner on its way!!

The 460 pictures shown are the clue, with the parts you need been available and either fit direct or an easy mod.
