I have been a member here for years; in fact, I remember reading the previous forum before having to rejoin about 6 or 7 years ago. So its safe to say I have wanted one for a while.

Timing was perfect on this car; it was up for sale and sold instantly about a month ago. I saw it readvertised on the Thursday night, got first refusal and drove it home on the Sunday.

Its a 44k mile Japanese import car in outrageous condition. I went to see it with an open mind not expecting much but it is absolutely mint. I have bought and sold a fair few cars for myself, family and friends in my 14 year driving career and this is way beyond just about anything else I have looked at. I crawled about underneath the other night and parts look largely brand new.

This week I had a guy come and remove all of the electronics it came from japan with (screens /aerials/ dvd / hdd /nav) and fit a nice new Bluapunkt unit and its now back to being a perfectly clean interior. I've removed the wind deflectors and japanese stickers and its back to looking like a european car again.

Anyway, pics will say a thousand words as they say. Thank you to Mr Spider for the advice pre-purchase.

JJ

Not sure why the forum seems to have chopped off half my linked pics but I assure you it has a front end.

Re: Recently purchased G500

Hi,

I have just joined after buying a G500 myself, ill open another thread.

I wanted to also buy this car a month or so ago but the seller was a complete bafoon. He was rude and arrogant on the phone, didnt seem too interested in actually selling and knew very little about the car or history. He told me he swapped it for a watch?!!!

Anyway glad it turned out to be a nice car...

If the seller had spoken to me nicer im sure I would have bought it...

Was also looking at a similar car which I think is still on ebay,  the one with black wheels.

G500's are awesome, loving mine so far.

Just to clairfy, I wasnt referring to Fred as the bafoon here...  Fred used to own my car... not the one above, unless im mistaken!

Re: Recently purchased G500

Hello

I found the guy absolutely spot on; I spoke to him a couple of times on the phone, and he was straight up from start to finish.

I went to look at it not really expecting to like it, but it was in such good condition in every way I bought it that day and drove it home.

Have covered a few more hundred miles in the car and absolutely love it; it is everything I had hoped for. Planning on updating the headlights to projectors (somehow, this seems like a bit of a minefield) and that is about it.

Is this the same car or has the same watch dealer got another one in?

Re: Recently purchased G500

Its not the same car given my photos above. Although the ad is a bit of a cut and paste I think from memory.

He had it sitting when I picked mine up (along with a couple of E500s and some delta integrales). I think he is "trading" but not, shall we say, trading.

Picked mine up from the specialist I use in Harrow last week, after a good going over it needed not a lot; some new discs and pads, all fluids, underneath "perfect". So that is a good result I feel. Still loving it.

Re: Recently purchased G500

The half a million plus quids worth of watches they have listed in "sellers other items" is probably more of a giveaway than companies house.

Re: Recently purchased G500

The point I was trying to make is that the company's listed activity is watches. Ergo, they may not be acting in accordance with their articles of association.....that clearer?
