Rare beast Withdrawn from Auction - 2009 Brabus GV12
Wonder how much that would have fetched
has the GV12 the same engine as the G65?
That is a beast. Purrs like a tiger. The UK roads and salt will eat into it though. Estimate of 65-75k seems about right to me - thats a premium for being unique and in good nick. But LHD and age only goes so far.
That's well spotted Gooch, very rare G.
I always wanted a V12 G Wagon and I think I would rather buy this than a similar priced G63. I wonder what the power output is from the Brabus V12.
from the Brabus websiite: The very first BRABUS V12 conversion based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is spotted on the roads of Bottrop, Germany in 2004. Revealed on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class’ 25th anniversary, the BRABUS G V12 is the only V12 powered Geländewagen in the world. Equipped with a heavily modified 6.3-liter twin-turbocharged S V12 increased-displacement engine producing 449 kW / 610 hp, it sprints from 0 – 100 km/h in a mere 5.3 seconds. An incredible feat of engineering at the time. Its top speed is electronically limited to 230 km/h.
Probably a modified M275.
Thanks for that Theo. Probably 'adequate' power then as Rolls Royce used to say.
Would it hold its money or does it still have further to drop, not sure on that one. Probably 12 mpg on a good day so maybe not a daily driver.
Did not know that and had to look it up; in 2002/03 a G63 AMG V12 was offered in parallel to the non-Kompressor G55 AMG and the G500; there was even a stretched versions of the V12, everything was possible at the time.
Aparently they only made five of the earlier M137 V12 engined G Wagons, only offered for sale in 2002. They were priced at around $185,000, not sure what that would be the sterling equivalent of in todays money, probably quite a lot !
Must be one of the rarest G Wagons.

I think you need to explain the stretched G in your GWOA pic ?
Indeed; are we looking at a third set of doors?

When I joined the GWOA in 2009 I didn't have a digital photo of my G Wagon on file so I uploaded an interesting G Wagon photo from the internet to my profile as a temporary measure. However it's been there for 14 years so it wasn't very temporary. I have tried to update it a few times but unfortunately the website won't allow me to do it so I am stuck with it. In the 14 years its been up there I think you are the only person who has commented on it :)
Here is a larger photo of a similar one. Its only got two doors either side with a extended non opening section between them. They still make them, the armoured version is around £1.2m !!
Now thats what I call a limo!
Good story too.
if ground clearance is of no concern, here is the super-max version. Heaven knows how this works with the drivetrain, probably front wheel drive. Only in Dubai and a long way from a 461.
It must be reinforced with some very long girders to support that extension!
Interestingly after saying I couldn't update my profile photo for the last 14 years it has now mysteriously updated to a new photo, very strange.

Must be something you did. Nothing to do with website/admin !

Funny you say that from above they look the same!
