Having sorted my OVP problem, I still have a dud satnav/radio. It's a Becker Indianapolis Pro. Does anyone know where the fuse might be for that?

Thanks.

It will be in the fuse box. There are no fuses located elsewhere, except the one on top of the OVP :)

Not sure about that particular model but many car radios have their own fuse - often at the back where all the wires are. Certainly the case with my Sony radio as I recently changed for one that would connect to my mobile phone via bluetooth.

Thanks, any idea what number, there are lots.  My initial scan of the fuses suggested none were blown, I'll have to check again. I had wondered if there was an in-line fuse. If there are no obvious suspects on the board I'll whip it out for a look.

Yes I was scratching my head on this, I checked the Becker installation Guide and in ninety page offers only this advice:

If you open the above link and then go through it to page the last page, there is a diagram of the back of your head unit.  It has a 10 amp fuse.

Hope that helps

Phil

And if your original problem managed to blow the 20A fuse in the OVP then good chance it also blew the 10A one on the back of the radio.

I've been through this several times and can find no reference to any fuse. Below the diagram from the last page, can't see the fuse bit (maybe I'm blind!)

The fuse on the radio you pictured is to the left of the connector block on the rhs. It's got 10 written on it.

The main fuse is no 15 on the later model 463 which also does the ciggy lighter. Is that working?

Got it, I am blind. No the lighter's not working either so I'm guessing both have gone.

Many thanks, off to fix the radio now!

Re: Radio...where might the fuse be?

Bingo....all is well. Moral of this (rather lengthy) story, is don't:

a). Connect a power pack the wrong way round.

And:

b). Don't assume that an expensive power packs (with three built in safety measures) does what it says on the tin.

All's well that ends well even if it was a pain as what are simple measures for fit and able sorts are major works for those of a more crumbly disposition!

I shall be asking Messer Ring of the three safety feature power pack to come and pick up their dodgy merchandise to see if they can establish the fault, if they don't, then it's going to the dump, I don't want it!
