Either a 280CDI or 300CDI,  could be one of Michaels Entdecker look a likes, can't see badge on roof rack.

Re: Quiz time

Roof tent - huh! Mine cost £30, takes seconds to put up/take down (attach 4 corners to roofrack), very small and can change the colours each season if I wish! Photo's are from our family tour of the Outer Hebrides this summer, 4 people and a large dog in a G, 1600 miles. Rear bed simply involved a flexi-plyboard I cut to size (originally from a similar bed I'd had from my LR 110 that I had backed with camping mat) that fitted in boot space whilst traveling and cooker/stuff stored underneath. By removing 2 bolts from bench seat this allowed a bed of nearly 2m and was exceedingly comfortable. When bench seat back leaned against the inside also made a great reading seat. About 10 minutes to sort both sleeping areas. Again working on a budget, eating area is £5 tarpaulin and some old tent poles with a couple of guy ropes.

No fancy mod's, £35 and using bits of stuff laying around, yet we were happy for a week and could easily spend months. Just to note not a single issue with the old lady and great to spend so much time with (in) her.

Cheers,

Stewart

Re: Quiz time

Excellent. I'm guessing the most expensive thing was the ladder.

Re: Quiz time

Definite Entdecker G pro and probably the 300 since the early 280cdi seem to have the Maggiona or later Airtop tent.

i was fortunate to buy my carbon maggiolina tent  and Front Runner rack from the same seller a couple of years ago. It looked like it hadn't been slept in and the guy said it had come from some special order vehicle in Switzerland. I knew immediately what it was so snapped it up. My rack has an Endecker s/steel plaque on the rear which appears to be missing on this one! Good find!

Re: Quiz time

Had always planned on 'pop-up' roof tent so had roofrack (8 point fixing) and ladder made number of years ago, cost £220. Ever since the G is a glorified climbing frame but use frequently for bikes/timber etc. so didn't include it in my 'camper conversion' costs! This was the first year however got to travel in it, but won't be the last..
