Hi. Was trying to figure how much weight I can safely carry in my 460 SWB 300GD and getting no where with the manual when I found this link which gives most of the info you need for the SWB/LWB& Cabrio, so thought I'd share it: http://www.g4rce.net/technical-data/w460-300gd-swb.html Oh and the answer is 565kgs. I was guessing 500kgs ish. I know this includes fuel and driver btw, but looks like I can get me and 480kgs of traventine flags in :-).. Just/ish etc. All the best Simon

..and LWB can take 745kg with same brakes, axles, tyres and similar springs...

Note you may break your rear springs.. I did the first time I loaded mine up with a decent trailer load. They are weak and do die from age/fatigue/corrosion.. so replace them with the stiffer/proper rated 461 springs at some point. They did do heavy duty springs as an option which are twice the spring rate.. but van/461 versions are available aftermarket so easier to source and hopefully are a one time replacement instead of a service item ..

Good luck

Hi

Already done the same as you before :-) chucked in 35 bags of sand and cement and hey presto! As a result I swapped the springs and shocks all round (the ever resourceful Gav managed to work out my G was supplied with 'soft' rear springs).

I opted for an Ironman set up from westcoast 4X4 and very happy with the result. Took the full Traventine load and subsequently 640kgs of building materials, and still had plenty of travel left
