certainly on the front anti-roll bar they would be a good idea, since the rubber ones seem to wear quickly. However, I don't know who supplies them. For the trailing arms, the factory bushes seem quite durable.

I've seen them various German web sites, price being similar to MB but I haven't looked lately so they maybe cheaper given the Euro exchange rate.

Having said that as Arnie says the genuine mb one's last very well. I've seen LR's suffer from other suspension parts being stressed after fitting poly bushes. Welds fractured etc. I have no factual evidence, just my observations.

Re: Polyurethane bushes..

Hi Lenny,

I've fitted them all round about two years ago and am very happy with the results. We pack the car full quite often so the extra hardness has been beneficial as the car (when the bushes were worn admittedly) would feel to wonder all over the road and be susceptible to side winds. No problems of this sort whatsoever after fitment and car still rides very well. After fitting them I didn't really find that the ride quality was altered (some people say that the polybushes allow more 'noise' to be transmitted to the car body/chassis, but I haven't been able to perceive this). I bought them from a German supplier: I think it was GFG but really can't remember.

Hope that helps,

Phileas

Yes it is GFG. Their web site is gfg-shop.de. The bushes can be found under Landing gear, sub section Sockets. A full set will cost you 495 euro, or approx £380.

Ive purchased a number of items of GFG over the years and found them very helpful.

Re: Polyurethane bushes..

I changed to poly some time ago. Lost some vibration but maybe just because the rubber bushings were shot.

Bought mine from Poland, opony4x4.

Also bought the complete dobinsons suspension package so the ride is quite hard now, which suits me fine since we're going on a longer expedition this summer.

Re: Polyurethane bushes..

Can anyone explain why a complete kit for a landy is £100 where as the G kit is almost £400? Mad!

Re: Polyurethane bushes..

Simple case of quantity to minimum economic production. The numerous 'Landy' bushes in demand means these can be cheaply made in great bulk but for the G-Wagen; similar production of the bushes would great a glut in supply and some one will not be happy to see any sense in stocking a slow moving part on the selves wasting investment capital.

Nice to see me using some big words there. Hope it makes sense. smiley
