Apologies if this has been covered before, I did search but can not find the answer,

How do you get the normal Mercedes 10 digit part number when using the spare part illustrated ? Just does not seem to make sense to me.

Can anyone explain it in simple term to me ?

Thanks

Richard

Not sure what you are referring to?

Part numbers can be obtained from a copy of the Electronic Parts Catalogue, (EPC)

Ah I was hoping I did not have to buy a copy of EPC - and could just use the spare part illustrations files that are in the members area.

found a copy of bay of evil for £21 so not that bad

For that price, you should be able to find a copy that also includes WIS, which is very useful for service and repair information.

Usually there are two types going:

  • one that is a native install on Win-XP. This may be the best solution, but it is a lot of work to install.
  • the second is an image of an original version, running on a virtual machine. In other words, you run an image of someone else's XP-install on say, Windows-7, using some Oracle-type Virtual Machine software. This is very easy to install, but depending on how good your PC is, it can be slow and setting up a printer requires a little bit of work.

(Maybe it is possible to get the info from the member's area, but I don't know about that.)
