Part numbers front seat boly and sleeve
Hello,
I am trying to find the part numbers for the bolt and the metal sleeve (bush) that goes through the seat spring at the base of the front seat. Please see picture attached. The bolt has a slotted head and is threaded at the one end not all the way, the metal sleeve goes over this.
Three of them are nice and tight, but on the passenger seat there is one which has a lot of play which allows the seat to rattle when driving.
I appreciate your help as always you guys have saved me so much time and effort, thank you.
Regards,
MrB

Do you have a close up of the bolt? Head etc..

You'll probably find that it is not the bolt. The springs 'sag' over time from repeated seat folding and then don't recover their tension when the seat is in its normal position, causing rattles. Dismantle the spring assembly. Put one end of the spring in a vice and re-tension it by unwinding it a little. Then, replace and rattle should have gone.
Yes, it's normal for the bolt to have two nuts. All the ones on my seats also have two nuts on each bolt. This is to prevent unfastening with vibration, which could be catastrophic for the driver.
Hi
When you remove it if you could take pics and measurements then i can progress to find one ...
Pictures of the Bolt Head, Bolt and Tube will be useful...plus...
Bolt Total Length
Bolt Length from under Head
Shank Length
Thread Length
Thread Diameter
Tube Total Length
Tube External Diameter
Tube Internal Diameter
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry it is a 1991 G300 GE.
The only diagram I could find showed the spring and not the bolt and sleeve, very strange. Different diagram to the one Adrian Cox shows, no springs at the base in that one.
Maybe I need to visit a MB dealer for them to check this one out.
Any more comments or help appreciated.
Thanks
