Ouch! £20,000 and it's a 1992 463 diesel

Looks good - but for that money I guess it should.
And no air-con either !!!
Does look a gem though. I'd like it!
nappa wasnt available back then,,,,
nice , but not 20k nice...
11k would be a realistic price.
Huss is right the leather is a retrim and the door cards aren't right
And every time some comedian posts a fantasy price it makes people uncertain about the stability of the market and hence the real worth.
Fantasy posting does no one any favours. Yes it's nice, but twenty big ones is way too much.
Supply and demand, and new stuff starting at astronomical figures is always going to drive up prices. Try and buy a cheap LWB there ain't none
There are plenty at less than £20K.

Nice. But I suppose why not be cheeky? It looks in cosmetic good condition, nice re spray and love the napper leather seats. Modern up lift with the bluetooth? But I think more tops at 14-15K, and I would expect FSH, with at least the first 10 years MBSH. Were the 92's with analog or digital odometers?

Spiders got one for sale!! ........20K should buy it.
Looks very well cared for and if as good as it looks will probably give many many more years of very reliable service. If it were mine, I'd be asking that kind of money too. I'd let mine go for that amount too, lol.

Hee hee, it should, but it won't

There is nothing wrong with people posting their opinions and it wouldn't drive down the prices if they are asking fair money for vehicles. 20K is a lot and there is no reason why members shouldn't comment on it if that is how they feel
7 years ago it would have been 10k ?
Not sure where this bubble is going .. G's are nice but really it is a 22 year old car and so will be as reliable as a 22 year old rubber parts etc can be ... at 22 years it should be moving into collectors/high days only cars yet we seem to be thinking that because it has a 3 pointed star that it will be as reliable as a 1 year old Focus for daily driving.
7 years ago I would have .. now we have a price bubble and it is no longer a "depreciate 50% every 3 years" asset and not a stable classic like the 460's... I don't understand the market so I have not gone in there. For £4k you can get 12 year old ML500 with lpg which is a better car 95% of the time .. but it is not a G (rolls too much, not a rigid). I still have a SWB 460GD for the 0-3 days a year I need more in the winter and it is price stable and sound after £3k of spend... so that works for me still as a "special days only" winter wagon.
So who is buying these cars at twice the price and what is the car's role in their transport aspirations?
you say that ive had my 1989 300GD since 1990 its the only car ive had
its got 180k on the clock now and it still is happy to pull a 2 axle caravan
over the alps so to me cheep motoring most of my pals are on there 4 or 5
RR and still need a new one
Mine is a 1993 463 SWB also with space rocket mileage and I have just been told by my mechanic that I could ask about 15K if selling it. How many other vehicles of that age could you get over ten grand for?
Not for sale though, nor will be as far as I am concerned
when a car like this one is available for circa £9k a similar aged G does seem a tad overpriced

Fair point
That is roughly what I paid for mine, but my point was that members are perfectly entitled to comment and so be it if someone asks inordinate sums of money for it. No guarantee that they will get it. It certainly won't drive the prices of other well-priced G Wagens down

He could get a lot more for that if he wasn't in a hurry. Fabulous car, one of my favourites, but as a left hooker no good to me. :(
Hmmm - wife just saying she'd really like to go to Edinburgh.
Surely no air-con must be worth a fairly hefty discount. After all, all that glass and it's summer coming up.
