Morning all, I bought a merc sprinter in the last few weeks, 2009, 315 cdi, with 2nd sliding door.  Decent miles on the clock ,but in mint condition.  I put on my seatbelt  and noticed the belt fabric was wet.  Checking the passenger side, that belt was wet also.  The van is timber lined and there is an area towards the rear ( in line with the wheel arches ) that is wet also.  Any ideas ??

Sean

Has it got the air vents at the back of the cab? Could be pressure washer related. Remove the B pillar trim and see if there is water sitting in the area where the reel is mounted. Could also be that they pressure washed the floor of the van to clean it up.

Or it could be a vehicle from the recent flooded areas?  But the seats are dry are they not? - Could be shampooed out and dried where as the belts are more difficult to clean and dry.

Just poor detective conclusions on my part!

Merfan's suggestion seem plausible.

Hi Sean

No known issues with that one...

Nice motor and great engine...

I would go with the others, especially with a "clean" high miler...

Sounds like its been a bit grubby and has had a real good steam through and cabin cleanse...

I reckon they will dry out naturally in a week or so, especially if the weather stays OK
