Oasis and a G!
If you're an Oasis fan and know the song Little by Little (taken from Heathen Chemistry) you'll have noticed a silver SWB G in their video.
Just thought i'd mention it!
:D
I heard that JK (from jamirakoi) uses a G, does anyone else know of any celeb users?

Loads of Bullfighters unknown to the British public, John Paul II, Tina Turner, Jennifer Lopez, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Eric Clapton who did a commercial for MB USA of the G-Wagen on condition of being supplied with a RHD G 500.... only to accept a LHD after Daimler-Chrysler turned up to very embarrasingly say that the RHD production had been discontinued the year before!
maybe he'd like my reg K4JJK
Ozzy used to have a G Wagen, but, thats going back to the mid eighties when he lived in Hampstead..
not sure if JK still owns one.... read 2/3 of the way down the article

i heard that J-Lo has one, and Brad Pitt and Jen have a "his and hers"
I was at Caversham a few months back and they had a brand new 2004 LWB LHD G-Wagen in black with all the toys (ie PS2 etc). I asked them who it was for, to which they replied they had no idea. Some rich Americain had sent in their PA to purchase it for use on the back of their yacht. Caversham had the duty of registering it, but he wouldn't even give them his name for the registry... they had to use the PA's name. Bets were that is was Bill Gates or Arnold.
there are only 4 of those g500s in the UK. A member of the club brought his to Beaulieu and it looks great . Special paint that changes colour depending on the angle of looking

Roly:
The car brought to Beaulieu is one of the four RHD "Classics" ever made. The Classic is a 1999 model, i.e. no Command, TV, Parktronic or even Climate Control (see picture).
This being said, a RHD Classic could be the rarest and most desirable G-Wagen of them all for a UK enthusiast!
In any event, I am still intrigued on who is the American in question. I bet for Bill rather than Arnold. He's to busy governing California to bother to come to the UK.

I didn't get the impression it was staying in the UK... but rather just being registered here and then put immediately on his (or her) yacht as a shore car.
No 'command' OR 'parktronic'!!! I ain't buying that then.

I thought the dial on the left with the blue around it was air con? At least that seems to be what it indicates in my owner's manual.

it is an air con, but not a fully automatic climat control. post 2000 g's have the fully automatic climat control, where you just type in the temp you'd like to have and the rest is done automaticly. this is one of the features that came with the "can-data-bus" inside the car, and the new dashboard.
I've seen JK drive his G down Marylebone Road a few times... unfortunately always caught him driving the opposite way!
I suppose there is no harm is saying that his plate is V8 JAY
Madferrit!!
