Hi,

Wanted to say hello. I've just placed a deposit on my 1st G Wagon, a 300GD W460 Reg Oct 1982 in need of much TLC, lots of time and money spending on it. I'm a bit of a sucker for saving old vehicles having restored a S2a Land Rover over a 3 year period between 2010 and 13. Anyway hi to you all, I'm sure once it arrives I'll be on here asking lots of questions. I think a plasma cutter is calling from the next NEC Classic Car show.

Chassis and engine/gearbox are usually indestructible, issues will be rust in the rear 3/4s and the interior, 25mpg and will run on chip fat so not too expensive to run either. Would cost me £100 a year on limited mileage policy

Thanks. I'm quite a way of getting it on the road but handy to know about the cheap classic insurance. The attraction to me was that in 2022 (really not that far away) it'll be free to tax too.

The first one I bought was the same as yours, a C plate '86, issues were as outlined above, that glowing be far off free tax.maybe I should have kept it.
