Hi Mark, welcome to the club, I hope you enjoy, just be carful before you part with your hard earned money, like Axel says if you post your prospective G wagon on here there will be a lot of good people only too glad to advise.
Paul
Mark,
Welcome to the club. I'm sure if you post your location the local GWOA Rep will make contact and invite you to any local meets.
Regards
Tim
Welcome, and as others have said, be careful in your selection.
That said, I have a wonderful 7.3 litre AMG/Zonda/Brabus diamond encrusted super fast (0 to 80mph in 2secs)
mega-multiple turbo charged jet powered 8 x 8 for only £3,000,000.00 Just send me the money by Western Union transfer and I'll get one of my flunkies to air-lift it to you!!

Sure, here you go, note the gold leaf and how subtle the conversion has been, it's almost as if it had never been a G Wagen at all

Hello Mark6,
Welcome to the forum and by your red banner the club! Dare I ask what you have been doing in the past 25 years to not have a 4x4? My first advice to you is to read the buying advice section, my second is be careful of being groomed off the forum by unscrupulous dealers - Fixwin38 ( real name Peter Newman) or G Class Centre Ltd are prime examples.
With the GWOA you have some expert knowledge and some great people. Don;t be frightened to ask any questions, we will have the answers.
Looking forward to meeting you at one our our meets soon. Maybe an idea of what you are looking for, if you want a soft road pimp wagen or a hard core off roader you then get 100's of eyes out watching for you!
Once again Welcome
Spider1V
Welcome Mark
Where about's are you?
the 463 300 gd that 'griff' has got for sale fits the bill (budget)
it is a few down from the top on recent posts .
...but you know your dreams are of a W123 estate
Welcome. Lots of good guys here - advice is freely available from people with a great deal of experience. Bets of luck and let us know what you buy.
Of course you're right Ben.
My dream second car (after the G) is a W123 7 seater estate with OM606A plus Tiptronic :-)
Eddie.
You could do worse than consider Griffs white w463; don't get the w123 thing w124s are much nicer and some have lovely petrol engines

Many thanks to you all for advice about the dangerous waters !!
I had Land Rovers and a 2 door Range Rover when they were . what I consider to be "proper"
In recent years after motorcycles aplenty , my wife and I are now exploring cars again
We have a Mercedes W124 estate and R170 SLK AMG
All ideas gratefully received , petrol or diesel , LWB or SWB , budget is likely to be approx £ 8,000
Thank you again
Mark and Denise
