New G500 owner
After 10 years since my last G - a 1989 280GE, I'm delighted to introduce my new car to the forum. I managed to find a real gem of a RHD G500 bought from Johnsthan who I think is a member on here. The car is a genuine UK car and one of the 30 odd RHD models from around 2000. It's in azurite blue which I'm finding is a fairly unusual colour. Its condition is immaculate and it drives like a dream. Nice and original spec with black leather, nice alloys and sunroof.
Thanks to Spider and Scouse G who helped advise me when looking at this car - your knowledge and support is appreciated.
I don't have much work to do on it at all - just a Service type A plus I think I'm going to renew the spark plugs. Does anyone have any experience of Merc medic in Woking as they are local to me.
I'm based in Surrey near to J10 M25 (and even closer to MB Brooklands) so look out for the blue monster rumbling around and let me know if you're in the area!
Cheers
Aaron
Thats a beautiful machine, congratulations and welcome!
Lovely looking G. The blue is a top colour, when the sun shines on it it looks purple.
There are a number of regular service items which you should check up on not just the plugs. do you have the service history? How many miles?
Filters, belts, plugs oils throughout. Also check if the crank sensor has ever been changed as they need replacing every 60K
Great looking G and a rare RHD G500 with fantastic looking wheels.......even better that Joe has someone to chase around the M25......
Welcome. Lovely looking G. Looks like the pic was taken outside Hampton Court?

No idea how many were made - but here's a great site for finding out how many of whichever model you're interested in are still registered in this country - www.howmanyleft.co.uk

Hi, thanks for all the comments - yes the car was the one that was for sale in Jersey but I think it was photographed in Liverpool. It's been in the same family for 10 years and moved between here and Jersey.
Mileage is 88k and it has all the service stamps although not a great deal of receipts. I intend to take it to merc medic to see what service items need doing.
