Hi All

Today I bought my first G Wagen from Griff in Whitby.  Its a 92 White SWB Diesel.

Griff is a really nice chap, made me and my wife feel very welcome, and he also gave me some useful information when it comes to G's.

We also had a lovely time in Whitby, we had some nice fish and chips and a nice stroll around, so all in all a good day.

I have some good plans for the G, want to keep it original but will change a few things but nothing too over the top, I want to keep the originality.  Now I am a new G owner I will become an active member.  It's handy that Scouse G is not too far away from me also!

Thanks

Re: New G owner

Hello Tony Welcome to the world of SWB  G ownership. Grahame is a great contact and I have a 617a transplant thanks to him. I live near manchester airport so if you start to go down the route of thinking the 300 GD is a great car, but just needs a bit more get up and go feel free to get in touch so you can experience the difference. Mind you the 463 300GD might already be a significant leg up on the 460 :-)..

Ta Simon

gonna venture offroad much in it...

thw gwoa will be looking after you i am sure..

simon i think its a 463 tony has acquired, not a 460. its a swb all the same.

Hi Hus... yep spotted my mistake.. just. Did an edit but you got to it first :-) I keep thinking I used to get to Cyprus every year - Aphrodite hills resort - so next time I thought I must drop you a line, guess what - not been for 2 years now... Is the 463 300GD much improved over the 460 performance wise?? Simon

Re: New G owner

no worries simon...simple mistake due to excitment !  if you ever visit keep intouch. would be nice to meet up somewhere..

460 diesel is less refined than the 463's super sweet 6 cylinder...performance wise the 463 is a little quicker maybe but not too much power in either really.

this is where the 606a steps in , in terms of the 463..617a is plenty enough for the 460.

Re: New G owner

Hi Tony and welcome to the club and forum. Lovely G you have there, and I hope it bring you many years of reliable driving. Will you be planning to take it into the 'brown' stuff?
