New G owner
Hi All
Today I bought my first G Wagen from Griff in Whitby. Its a 92 White SWB Diesel.
Griff is a really nice chap, made me and my wife feel very welcome, and he also gave me some useful information when it comes to G's.
We also had a lovely time in Whitby, we had some nice fish and chips and a nice stroll around, so all in all a good day.
I have some good plans for the G, want to keep it original but will change a few things but nothing too over the top, I want to keep the originality. Now I am a new G owner I will become an active member. It's handy that Scouse G is not too far away from me also!
Thanks

Hello Tony Welcome to the world of SWB G ownership. Grahame is a great contact and I have a 617a transplant thanks to him. I live near manchester airport so if you start to go down the route of thinking the 300 GD is a great car, but just needs a bit more get up and go feel free to get in touch so you can experience the difference. Mind you the 463 300GD might already be a significant leg up on the 460 :-)..
Ta Simon
welcome tony ! thats a nice a G i really liked when i saw it...! keep it subtle and dont modify it to offroad looks if your not
gonna venture offroad much in it...
thw gwoa will be looking after you i am sure..
simon i think its a 463 tony has acquired, not a 460. its a swb all the same.

no worries simon...simple mistake due to excitment ! if you ever visit keep intouch. would be nice to meet up somewhere..
460 diesel is less refined than the 463's super sweet 6 cylinder...performance wise the 463 is a little quicker maybe but not too much power in either really.
this is where the 606a steps in , in terms of the 463..617a is plenty enough for the 460.

There is another 460 arriving in south liverpool this week !
88 lwb 460 in silver 280ge with bwa alloys, its goin 4a 606a six speed box mod over the winter, needs a lot of work tho, already stripped ready to get going on it......
Hi Tony and welcome to the club and forum. Lovely G you have there, and I hope it bring you many years of reliable driving. Will you be planning to take it into the 'brown' stuff?
Spider1V
Good luck with it
it ticks all the boxes
and a very fair price
Welcome Tony... you could have called to show me your new purchase on the way back across northern England
Hi Spider may do a bit of gentle off road on nice green lanes
Thanks for the welcome Tony
