Mysterious moulding

Does anyone recognise this and can say where it comes from and what it does?  Somewhere under the gear lever gaiter rings a bell.  Speaking of gaiters; does anyone do a a nice leather alternative gaiter/lever/knob all in one - like the hi/lo selector?

I don't think so - the more I think about it, it from the gear lever or hi/lo selector

is there a part number on it

i do recall seeing this on my g wagon and yes i think gearbox boot area

Cant recall if transfer or gearlever

If it has a number gav will tell you the part
