Just getting a service kit for the ML at the stealer ... and I got sold 5 litres of pucka MB oil for 20 notes (well 10 litres for 40 actually). MB are promoting their new oil which is meant to be Mobil 1.. but for the price of Castrol GTX; it seems a bargain if you need it.

Re: MB own brand oil

Just bought some Mobil1 0W-40 for £50 for 5 litres, as I was in a hurry. Yes, £20 is a great price. Is this in retail packaging or is it bring your own containers to fill-up?

Re: MB own brand oil

This was in a 5 litre MB container from the spares counter.. mind I am well known there after rebuilding a G over a few years so it might be a bit of a special .. but I think MB are trying to establish themselves so it is a loss leader. Now is it really Mobil 1?.. I cannot tell but it will at least look right on my service doc for the ML as all filters and oil are MB's and it must be MB quality at the very least.
