Does anyone have any instructions or a schematic of how to correctly fit a set ? Gav?

I know there are only 3 brackets each side but as Spider1V will probably mention it is quite difficult from people with Norfolk with 6 fingers.smiley

t is fairly simple... Two large 17mm bolts to hold the brackets on with a washer of course... Then there are nuts and bolts for the actual rails which slide on to the underside of the step...

If your car has never had steps the threaded holes for the brackets will have grommets in them to remove.

The most difficult (fiddly) part was installing the end caps correctly to line them up nicely.

Thanks Jaymanek,

I've just had my E Class serviced and they had a 2012 plate on the forecourt so I had a gander underneath. Like you mentioned lining up the ends to make it look neat is the important bit. They are being fitted on a late 94 G300 so that i can get into the drivers seat after 90 mins of football on a saturday.smiley

Thanks for replying.

Tim

Re: LWB 463 Side Steps - Instructions

I've just take the steps out of the packaging and looked at the brackets and underneath of the 463.

I have three brackets per side and can see three grommets per side which don't appear to be evenly placed......is this correct? There appears two nearer the front door and one for the back?

Each bracket attached to the side step with two nuts and bolts? The question I have is do the brackets (3 each side) attach to the sills each will the single bolt? The reason I ask is that I only have 3 bolts per side but there appears to be two possible fixing locations on each bracket?

It could be that I am being really thick but I'm sure there is someone who can explain if this is correct or do I need to locate more grommets?

Hope this makes sense...carrot boy.☺️

There are two 17mm bolts to the body on each bracket. Upper and Lower.

The steps I bought did not come with these mounting bolts but luckily I had some in stock in the correct size.

On my G500 two of the brackets were awkward as the exhaustt heat shield was in the way. I had to bend it slightly to allow enough room for the bolt to be threaded in, I then used a ratchet spanner to do them up.

Re: LWB 463 Side Steps - Instructions

Thanks for all the advice and help.

The steps are know doing what they were intended for. Each side will hold 16 bottles or 22 cans...

You have to be careful with the 500ml wine glasses but pint glasses are no trouble
