hello again ,
can anyone tell me what comes in the factory tool kit for the 460 GS300 ?
having carryed out a service last weekend in seems a 14 mm allen key and a 19mm and 13mm socket play a big part.
can anyone tell me if mercedes still sell them,
I guess the cost is up to snap-on price.
also the jack will mercedes stock this is it.?
is it a mercedes part only or are there other mercedes products have the same jack .?
thank you all

According to my EPC, the tool kit is NOT sold as such, but all the tools are sold separately. The kit comprises the following:

Tool bag
Open end Wrench 10x11
Open end Wrench 11x13
Box type Wrench 13x17
Open end Wrench 17x19
Wheel nut wrench
Hex (Allen) Key wrench 14 mm
Screwdriver (flat + phillips)
Combination pliers
Collapsible Rod

All this costs € 144 + VAT or some £ 113

The 4 ton bottle jack costs € 174.55 + VAT or some £ 137

I know better ways of spending £ 250 quid.

Speak to somebody breaking a G. I am sure most of them have the toolkit (some of them fairly intact). Don't buy the jack unless you're pretty sure that it doesn't leak. It's better to buy any commercial bottle jack which would fit the relevant place under the bonnet.

Cheers

Toolkit on Ebay

Not that it might interest you...... this is in the USA and the shipping (and custom???) costs may not be negligible (or may be not???), but at least you get to see how the toolkit (for a 463 series) looks like.

Jack replacement

Hi twodogs,

This may be a little frowned on by the general Mercedes population but I have found that a LR Discovery jack does just fine and it will fit in the under bonnet mount with just a slight bit of work to the base (with a grinder). There should be a few of these going spare around the place at aslightly more reasonable price.
