KARMA! MINT very rare 290GTD
The same day the forum is back online I've bought my dream G....
A long wheel base 290 turbo diesel with full option.
factory webasto, electric seats, heated seats, airco, navi, central locking, electric windows, alloys etc...
It looks and drives like it just rolled out of Graz...only 80K very careful road miles.
You cannot believe how excited I am!!!!!!!!
And how the hell can we upload pictures?

There should be an attach picture link available when you create your post.
Alternativelt if you're a paid-up member (and I think you probably are - just don't have member list to hand) then their is a new feature where you can post specs of your G.
However we need to activate membership still for this feature to work... we're working on it but if you give me your membership number I will do it for you now.
ok seems like there are problems. am looking into it now.
I think, not that I am in any way biased, the best version of the "G" breed, simply because of the satisfactory reliable engine, without a shed load of ancillary electrics to give trouble. imho.
My only other comment would be *****************bastard ****************cos i's is VERY jealous
ok easydeluxe you should be able to both post pictures here and via create content > vehicle on lefthand navigation. but if your vehicle isn't list there let me know as we are still updating list!

What makes the 290 GTD so Rare?
nothing, but models with airco and full options are very rare.
Hmm, I was looking for something rare that i maybe able to import to Australia. I must do some more homework.

...The Guy I bought it from was an amazing guy who's is chief mechanic for G wagens with MB in Stuttgart.
Apparently they call him "Doctor G"
This was his G...now he wants to drive a GLK????

Hmmm... the GLK is not that bad of a normal car! Although it is not as cool as G.
Very nice. Lucky man......by the way, if you want to have a 463 rear bumper, I'd gladly do a swap with you for your two 'halves'....ph
I have a 290 gdt but I wish to have one with AC at least. Well done, wishes for thousands of free trouble kilometers

hi goeff, good luck with your new purchase. very nice indeed. btw, where do you reside? uk or abroad?? one ,actually two questions i have are;
how does it drive in comparison to your previous G's? have you ever owned a 460 [tractor] would be interesting to hear comparisons as they share a similar chassis 4wd setup. the 460 is always noisier above 60 mph. how is your 290 i wonder? i must say though that my cabrio was a different G when the 606a was fitted. above 60 mph it was'nt as bad.
is this G like the one that wheelhouse had for sale?

I live in Belgium:
I'm soooooo amazed about the 290...
It has long axles and a quit engine so it is really good and quit at 120km/h.
Powerful enough to flow trough traffic anywhere, doesn't fall back on hills like my 603 powered GD.
+ It feels so solid and no nonsense.

Well done. Have a 290dt and a 270 cdi and enjoy them both. Both have AC but we dont need it down here. Both have been chipped and have a nice mix of power and economy. if someone has not shared with you the US Military manual for their G290 463 let me know and I will send you a copy. You can ignore the bits about guns etc.!
