Hello,

I joined you from Vancouver, Canada. I own a 1985 300GD with OM617.952 swap.

I always service, maintain and fabricate what is needed for my vehicles myself. Changed interior and set it up based on what we need in our trips. Under the hood, all the rubbers, cooling, vacuum system have been replaced. Solid truck for many years of adventure.

Cheers

Welcome aboard Motto I'm a fellow 1985 460 300GD owner :-). Mine has just had a 617a turbo engine from Florida dropped in - transformed the car. Yours looks a very straight, original G. Sure it will serve your adventures well, mine has never not completed a journey. Simon

Hi Simon, Is your 617turbo is 951 or 952 ? what do you think the mileage was when you purchased the engine ?

Intended it to look original. I don't want my G to catch attention but it turned out to be opposite. I would like drive a low profile vehicle. Attention brings trouble when you take a trip. But my roof rack is not being helpful to me for being under the radar. I often find people either inspect the vehicle or waiting for me to ask questions. Sadly we dont have many diesel Gw in North America.

Enjoy your G

 Hi,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Vancouver and we hardly ever see any snow in the city. After driving a short distance I can have meters of snow but it does not mean I can driver there.

I dont have many pictures while driving in the snow.

I like driving everyday even it is supposed to be my secondary vehicle. it is always loaded with all my gear and tools to any where any time. so i think that makes it weekend car.

cheers

Hello Jamie,

The previous owner installed that snorkel. I believe that type of snorkel came with 2011 G300CDI professional. I ll attach the pictures about the fitment of pipework under the hood when I am done with it.  Are you considering for your 606 engine ?

Good luck with your project Jamie, I am looking forward to hearing your feedback after running 722.6.

take care.

Hi Motto.

I recognised your name from the other forums.

I like the look of that snorkel... I've started making one myself for mine, but the plastic jobbies are much better looking.... will keep my eyes peeled.... I think it's going to be some time before I need to worry about air intakes! LOL

I can't wait to get mine running, should be good!
