I need a centre / box / armrest for my 463 lwb. Any ideas?
My G does not have a centre console arm rest box, can I get one from a different car that fits? A W124 perhaps?
Thanks Mud
When mine broke ( under the weight of my 4 year old) I went to a beakers yard and got one out of a 124 as my G is a 93 and with a bit of fiddling with the cover it fit fine.
There is a few on eBay look under 124 and notG wagen and you should find one.
The late-model Gs have the centre box/armrest at the (great) expense of losing the transfer box lever. I think , therefore you are limited to the seat-mounted armrests, if you don't already have those.
Need glasses... Thought it said armrest..
If they were removed, you'd see the attachment point on the middle side of the seat backrest. They probably can be ordered from an MB dealer. They are designed to flip-up when not wanted, so can't imagine why they'd have been removed.
Isn't the 124 armrest a bit wide? Apart from the fiddly cover, is it a straight swap?
Is there a way to repair the dreaded droopy armrest our G's suffer from?
cheers
That is what happened to mine when it got jumped on.. I got one from a w124 coupe, and I think I had to change some thing as it was the wrong way round but it works and fits fine.
Thanks for the help guys! I had not thought about the lever and I do not want to lose it. The last owner did say she originally have armrests but he took them off. Do you think I could source some and refit? Can anyone tell me how they attach please?
Thanks Mud
