Hello,

I have cleaned the front carpets and need to do the same to the middle set, I now need to remove the grey trim to get the carpets fixed back correctly.

Does anyone know how to remove this plastic trim without breaking it as it seems brittle.

I would also appreciate a MB part number for this trim or a smart replacement for it.

Appreciate your help and advice,

Regards,

MrB

I presume you mean the long piece of grey plastic above the door sill? Easy just lever it up go in gently with a very wide screwdriver or better a pallet type knife, after a bit you can use fingers.

It's shaped like a T so you can just lever up the carpet side 1/2" and slide the carpet under. If you want to remove it do what Jason says but apply the force in the centre as that's where the fixing is. You don't need to replace yours it looks fine.

Note that many trim parts in GREY are no longer available, although I don't think this is one of them.

(But I guess you could always buy a black one and spray it grey.)

Are those black carpets or is it just a dark picture? (Usually grey seats come with grey carpet and grey dash)

Re: How do you remove this trim

Thank you for the replies,

I will try to remove them carefully tonight and I can continue to restore the carpets true colour. My wife suggested I use Ciff cleaner on the trim and they have come up really well, I hope I do not break them taking them up they do seem a little brittle.

They are the Grey carpets the picture is just dark

Thanks again,

MrB

They are made of an ABS type plastic and as such 'super-glue' works really well in case...

New, they cost about 18 pounds each, if i remember correctly.

Before you use any cleaner try a patch on the back in case it disfigures the colour. I'd start with soapy water
