Holts Ceramic Paste
Those on here who regularly work on cars will already be familiar with this, but thought I'd share this as a handy tip for those that are not familiar with it.
Product in question is Holts Ceramic Paste Spray. I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever, just sharing my experiences.
A really good product to use whenever fitting new brake pads and/or discs.
Have been using it for many years now and found that it saves a lot of grief in the long run, by preventing things getting stuck on seized up. I also use it on wheel nuts and bolts for the same purpose. Many other uses as well. Anywhere where high temperature and exposed parts may end up seizing up, ie exhaust bolts/nuts, turbos, etc, etc.
Available from all good motor factors, retailing locally for £5.29 per can, which lasts ages, as you only use a quick squirt every time.
Needless to say, wear gloves
I presume far superior to copper grease then?
What in your opinion is best dismantling spray?
I'm not sure it is advisable to lubricate wheel nuts/bolts at all - a good clean will normally make them easier to get on and off.
Copper grease on wheel nuts/bolts every time IMHO. Useful but messy on seat rails too.
Should not be used on moving parts like window winder mechanism.
Eddie.

Now that you mention the window winder mechanism - what do people around here use to lubricate the electric window winder channel (2000 G500) if not copper grease? I mean the tube that the motor drive runs through - not the side U-channels that hold the glass in place.
Grease is for the cable, don't whatever you do put it on the channels silicon spray those or leave them dry
Thank you guys - I have tried to clean up the side channels - the only lubricant they get is dust from the atmosphere in Dubai :)

Yes, retains it's function at much higher temperatures. Also, despite it being used widely, copper grease has many disadvantages.
For penetrating spray, I use roughly 50/50 ATF and Acetone mixed in an Ikea spray dispenser bottle.
Much cheaper and better than any of the stuff sold off the shelf.
