Just got my new 230GE and my first serious 4x4 since I moved to Ireland. I will be using it mainly for recreational purposes, greenlaning and hopefully enter some competitions slowly. wink

First things to fix is a plus 2" suspension, maybe body lift and 33" tyres. I think this is good starting point, since the car is pretty capable from factory.

Happy to join your company and looking to know more about my new rig and get ideas and information on how to evolve it.

Hello Yannis,

Welcome onboard the club. The 230GE is not a disappointing vehicle on the contrary it has it's surprises.

Before going in head deep with your lift, acclimatize your self with your new toy in particular the body work and suspension mounts, prioritize with the remedial work required if at all then decide what needs doing first.

Enjoy.

Re: Hi from Dublin

Hi, thanks for the advice. Actually I will start from this weekend some offroading slowly and see how the car performs as is. But i will need new tyres soon anyway, so i am planning the lift in order to go for a bigger size from the start and not pay twice.

As for the engine my intention is also to see first how this one works and then decide if I am satisfied or not. I have read some stuff about the 606 conversion and had a quick chat with Gordon and it really looks awesome!

I have found a nice club in NI and I will start taking part in their RTV trials from September. And I am trying to connect with more people, all over the island. Hopefully I will make it to the other side as well, when I have the chance and there is an interesting event taking place.

Cheers
