Hi All

Just saying a quick hello from the Highlands, been thinking about a G for ages and finally in a position to seriously consider a purchase. My current off road vehicle is a Defender 110 TD5, which I am very attached to, it is noisy, uncomfortable and un reliable but its under my skin and cant imagine being defenderless so it will be staying. The G would be for the odd longer trip and towing a tin tent a couple of times a year.

I dont do a big mileage so my thoughts were to go for a petrol auto model and preferably a LWB - leaning towards a 463 but  choice seems to be fairly limited from the usual sources ebay, autotrader etc. Have seen this one and wondered if anyone has seen it - seems to have been around for a while and was originally £16995 and now £14995. At this price it is still near the top of the budget but if it was a good one be prepared to go for it.

One big disadvantage of being based way up north is the distance to travel to view various options. Any comments on this one or any others be very welcome - not in a rush and want to make sure I dont buy a lemon.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kiter and welcome.

First off, I AM NO EXPERT but this is not a million miles away from me and I would be happy to pop along and take a look to see if it looks to me as though it's worth you making the trip or doing more investigation.

I've only had my 463 SWB 300 G for just over a year but I could at least tell you if everything seems to work properly, if it is as rust free as they say and check anything you particularly want checked.. Looks like it could be from Japan?? Nice to see the extra seats in the back and the aircon - both very sought after extras.

Unfortunately I'm off to Cornwall tomorrow for a week so wouldn't be able to do anything until after April 11.

There are many many others on here who know a lot more than I do about Gs so if any of them are commutable to Pulborough then they would undoubtedly be able to give a better report than I.

Good luck.

Mark

Thanks would really appreciate that - I have dropped them an email with various questions so will see what sort of response I get back and if it checks out and still there when you get back can maybe sort something out to get you to go look it over. Enjoy your trip away.
