The two front heated seats in my 320 only heat the backs and not the seats, bits below the bum. Andrew the previous owner suggested that he had found a loose wire and a bit of jiggling sorted things. I have been doing a bit of jiggling to no avail, anyone with a wiring diagram have any ideas please.

Re: Heated seat issue

I don't know if this is your problem, but generally, with heated seats one must never apply point pressure to the seat base, like for instance kneeling on it. This can tear the heater resistance pad beneath the seat covering. Likewise, if the seat has a seat-occupancy sensor for controlling the front passenger airbag, this also can be damaged.

In your case, I would start by tracing the wiring and determining that the heater pad is not open-circuit (damaged) and that there is voltage at the connector. A basic multimeter would be useful for this.

Re: Heated seat issue

Hi Arnie that was sort of my plan but because there is a multitude of wires under the drivers seat knowing which wires are for the heating elements is a little daunting. There is current at what I assume is the primary supply but as the seat back is working there would be. If the supply is for both squab and back then I guess the elements must be damaged.
