Greetings from Max
Well this is the first post of the new forums...
I'm Max and I'm based in London. I've wanted a G for sometime now, basically since I first discovered them back in the 80s.
I've got a 1992 Anthracite Grey 300GD SWB Manual. Have to say that I am overall very pleased with it, apart from the fact that a London bus can pull away from the lights faster than me!
But now I think I'm hooked. It is Gs from now on, though the next time I think I'm going petrol!
Hi Max,, Hi all...
Not a G-Wagen owner,, but certainly hope to be soon...
I've had Merc vans for 20 odd years,, and have wanted a G-Wagen since they came out,, a long wait :( ...
Kind of set my mind on a mid 90's 300 TurboDiesel,,, Enjoying the various G related site's and forums...
Congrats on the new forum..

You give me far more credit than I deserve. Thanks. (The older I get, the more seems to leak out.)
Hey guys, I look forward to being on this wonderful forum.
That's true Maxwell
Mine's a foot long - but I don't use it as a rule...
(torque wrench that is)
Regards
Welcome to our forums Mark.
My wait wasn't quite so bad... about 15 years. But then when I actually decided to bite the bullet another 6 months of searching - which I've been told is a quick search.
Good luck on finding a 300TD - they're a bit rare. Might be easier to find a 300GD and do a turbo conversion.
Not sure if you are a GWOA member or not, but they have a regular magazine with vehicle for sale.
Good luck in your search and hope to see you around.
Thanks for the welcome,,
Yes,, the 300TD's are very rare over here,, a trip to Germany may be in order, when i'm in a position to purchase... Not sure if i'd be happy to add a turbo to a secound hand motor, with out doing a full engine overhaul,, but it's an option.. A petrol motor is definatly not an option for me,, i just know that one day, i'll fill the tank with derv  (ran mostly diesel's, over the years)
Is the GWOA open to folks who don't own a G- Wagen? (yet :) )
Mark. Welcome, I am sure if you are an owner, a past owner, or potential owner you are very welcome.

Is that a genuine Shoe-o-phone that your're using in your pic?
Where can I get one and would it work where I live (too few telephone masts)?
Cheers

That's what I call fat doughnuts! Though I guess with wider tyres performance would be even more sedating to say the least!
Thanks for the pic which I have included in the "Friends' G-Wagens section" of my (newly revamped) website (click on pic to see)
