No, it's not the title of the latest porn hit from Copenhagen. It's something I figured out when trying to keep the grease level up inside the front hubs.

In theory, you should stick the hose of the grease gun inside the hub, but there's no way of seeing where the grease that you are pumping is going, whether is creating bubbles, etc.

I decided to fit a grease nipple in the middle of the nut used to refill with grease. It's a standard item, similar to those in the propeller shafts. This way I only need to fill the hub completely with grease. Thus, I can ensure that the CV joint gaiters are surrounded with grease at all times and therefore better protected against water ingress.

Excellent ! What about the air getting out as you pump grease in? I'll be doing the same.

I thought about this a while back. It would be possible to overfill/ pressurise the cv boot and crush it. Don't put in too much at a time

I beleieve there's a liquid grease thats set like a gel produced for Landrovers (sorry I mentioned that name guys - honest). My local competition preping garage told me about it. Because it goes in as a liquid it reaches all essential areas before it sets.
He also told me to occasionally clean all grease off the ball and carefully run a smooth piece of plastic around the seal to remove grit etc, and maintain the retention of grease.
My problem is the grease coming out of the centre front wheel spindle (bearing) and leaving greasey streaks on my nearside front wheel

Hi John, Wher've ye been? Sounds like it's heating up and melting the grease. Maybe your bearing's adjusted too tight or you've packed too much grease in there. Or could be your pads are siezed up on that side. Kin ye fry an egg own it ataw?
