One more thing :)

I am looking for a gas strut lifter / bonnet lifter at a good price. Mine does not work anymore.

Any advice?

The ones shown are obviously too short, so check first with the supplier, the dimensions of the one that they would send you you

Check also the price from your local MB dealer and compare.

I have been riding that style, getting tired of it :)

Re: gas strut lifter / bonnet lifter

A previous owner of my W463 has fitted one by Nitrolift. Works well and appears to allow full opening. The numbers on my version are

G58-18-400-450

280N 1/13 5518 (that may be the serial number)

Not sure how price compares with proper MB version.

the one advantage of not using a strut is that you can fold the bonnet right back against the window, giving the best access and light, but take care if its windy lest you lose your head
