Does anyone know where to purchase fuel lines for a 300GE - I am after the line that runs from the filter to the hard line.

Also all the line connections seem to be frozen and I am hoping to avoid damaging the hard line when removing the flexile line which needs to be replaced - I don't think wd40 is up to it and I suspect heat may not be a great idea !! - Any advice?

Many thanks

David

Re: Fuel lines -filter to hard line

Many of these are shaped and some have different diameters at each end. You really need to get these from your local MB dealer parts department.

Many of the rubber hoses have spring-clip retainers. You need to compress and slide these off the connection point. then with a non-metallic pointed object, prise the edge of the hose off the metal pipe. Squirt in some WD40 and move the hose a little to allow the WD40 to penetrate further between the hose and the line. The hose will then come off.

You should also order new spring clips for the new hoses.

Some lines have threaded unions. For these you will require two spanners.

Try to wire-brush off any rust. Then, soak with WD40 or diesel fuel, for at least 24 hours. Find some spanners with wide flats, or better still, some pipe spanners (6-point ring spanner with slit)
