Hi,

I've just seen an exterior sun visor fitter to a LR Defender and its got me thinking that if these will fit the Defender the chances are it will fit a G-Wagen too as they are dimensionally so similar. Has anyone tried this option, kits are available from Bearmach and John Craddock, the dimensions will need double checking but I think its a sound option to resolve an irritating problem of "low winters sun" in the winter months

A firm called Vosca make one for the G but the price is ridiculous

any thoughts

cheap yes but not as cool; and if you are a rear passenger a dark top of the screen is very difficult to see out of, I know it irritated my kids when I used that as a solution to glare

Re: exterior sun visor

I put one of the visors you mentioned on a landrover I used to own some years ago, while it's probably good enough for a landrover I certainly would'nt fit anything like that on a G wagon because it was a very basic tin thing, I agree that the acrylic ones are far too expensive for what they are but the people who sell this stuff have got us over a barrel, you either get the right thing or get a cheaper make do one that just is'nt right for your vehicle, sorry if you think I'm being negative about your idea but I would'nt want to look at the vehicle after fitting one and think it looks a poor thing, it is a mercedes G wagon you've got after all which is a very different animal from a landrover
