Dream, or Nightmare?
hmm ,this seller was offering a lwb g wagen for sale with the same london, london location but the g wagen itself was pictured in a certain yard in northern ireland ... deffo as in the background there is a g wagen that came over from the 'gentleman' concerned . the amazing restorer who cannot even screw the fuel sender unit into the top of the tank properly without stripping the thread /who then jams it in anyway and sends the vehicle to its owner . cretin.
could be a coincidence ?
cabrio's are a rare bird especially if they are not too badly rotted /rust present /not light surface stuff but heavy deep rooted corrosion.
seems a bit 'sus' that it is based in exeter area but being sold from london.
this looks like someone we may know.
could be totally genuine ..
Having read many of these types of posts in the past, unless everything checks out, I believe it going to be a nightmare. As pointed out by the honorable member from Near the Somerset Levels - BEWARE some very dodgy kit out there at the moment.
However if you enjoy a challenge and have some cash lying around, would be nice to see such a rare G back in the 'Black'
Spider1V
Have a soft top on the go and that needs finishing .... might be convinced to part with it ...
PM me if of interest. (serious only please)
Based in Scotland :-)
Possibly worthy of note is that the seller's 100% feedback is based solely on buying. He has no feedback for selling.
Nightmare, the panels will set you back 2k and thats before starting the work, plus whatever else work is lying underneath, and then put your labour on top of that plus delivery plus paint. plus everything else nightmare nightmare nightmare........ps new tailgate too another nightmare
Only way is to go and see it, where ever it may be. Outside of that, nightmare.
I can't remember what happened to the other G he was selling, probably for someone else.
If you look in the gallery you will see Freds truck in the paint shop. I saw it myself earlier in the year with the engine and box back in. Would be a lovely project to finish, well worth a look.
Poor chap has spent mega money.
All in all - "nightmare" seems to be winning the post-in vote. The fact that there's no response from the "where can the vehicle be viewed" question, might confirm previous opinions with respect to the dubious sounding nature of the advertisement.
Not holding my breath....
