Hmm - yes. Very nice - but very expensive.

Be interested to know what you think it's really worth.

I have experience of this place. Some say it's good and have had good experiences. I am saying nothing.

This was on ebay a month ago. How much is its price. To be fair it did look tidy and original

Re: Down at Caversham Nice Yellow SWB G

This one was flagged by another member on the forum a little while ago.

It was in an auction and listed as coming from a collector who was thinning his stock down.

If I recollect correctly it went for between £6,500-£7,500 at auction.

Its condition looks unchanged to me, but then again he took the risk/effort to buy it.

my view having spent thousands keeping my 460 on the road is a well sorted and looked after one can save you many thousands in running repairs, you just need to know how to spot them, something the members on here are very generous in helping with.

As with most things in life, you can't guarantee trouble free G ownership. Nor do I think you can have a cheap G. You either pay at the start for a good one, or along the way rescuing it!

But personally that's part of what keeps them exclusive :-)

Yup....see http://classiccars.brightwells.com/v...ls.php?id=4295

It was sold at auction 14th May. Hammer price £7000.00 Then sold on eBay for £13,450.00

All results of that auction here:

Brightwells Classic Cars | Results

What is Mr Lafferty asking for it now?

Did it sell on eBay? I assumed that it was put on there by Mr Lafferty but failed to generate enough interest and that he is still trying to make a sale.

I guess that if he did pay £13,450 for it then his asking price isn't so outlandish.

Sorry - still don't understand how to get previous comment to appear in that nice shaded box!!

The seller on eBay was a Martin Traynor of Sky Chiltern Motor dealers. But what do you know, Sky Chiltern Motors just happen to be at the same address as Mr L. Seems as though this is the name they use on eBay.

Clearly it did not sell on eBay, the listing just expired. So to be clear, it looks as though they are sticking £5k plus on the hammer price. Good afternoon's work.

For the shaded box, just press quote!!

ETA: It appears that the car is not listed on either the Ballooner or Chiltern site.

When I asked him, he said he was selling it for another customer, I think it was around the £13+K mark, though both he and I thought that was a wee bit rich, more like £11-£12 would be better.

Hmm..iirc correctly there wasn't much time between it being sold at auction and then offered by Chiltern/Balooner on eBay.

If you look at the eBay listing there's no mention of it being a customers car, and indeed if says p/ex is available. Unusual if it was a customer sale. Also, I don't think the number of owners has changed.

Is that what they say when they don't want any comeback in the event of problems?

Compare that 460 with this http://www.gwoa.co.uk/content/g500-sale. OK, I know the steering wheel's on the wrong side but £17,250 for a G500 (from a GWOA member) vs £13+k for a 460 - surely it's a no brainer??

As you can see, I'm computer illiterate and still can't quite cope with the "quote" thingie.

But you're getting theresmiley

Agree on the 500 front, in fact I think that's under priced. If it wasn't a lengthy left hooker I'd be knocking on the door. Cracking buy for someone.
