I have been looking for a dog guard for my 463 300 GD for a while. Yeah, everybody seemed to have them in their brochures but when it came to order all of them chickened out or quoted ridiculous amounts for one "taylor made".

Until I went to Halfords armed with a bit of ingenuity. I bought two sets of their cheapest saloon car dog guard and fitted them together, discarding a pair of "legs". The result speaks for itself, no drilling and just a pair of plastic straps to secure the guard to the rear headrests. The vertical bars are even bent at the right place and at the right angle to maximise the poor loading capacity of my SWB. I am happy. Dog not so much.

Total cost £39.98

The setup also works with the 460 SWB. It's just a matter of removing the angled bits, since the rear bench is much more vertical in the 460.

Landie Doggie fits too

I bought a second hand dog guard for a LR Discovery and it fits a treat in my 280LWB. It comes as the guard plus 2 legs which bolt onto the inner wheel arches. The guard can be removed quickly if access to the whole loadspace is needed.
