does anyone know if you can get a modern style key n tranponder for a 1991 w463
i was wondering if i could get a flick key with a built in transponder as im tired of using my near dead transponder with a seperate key im not sure but it might be a aftermarket alarm

if anyone knows what type of key black the 1991 463 uses i would apprechiate it as no shops can help without the blank code from the calls and emails i have made
You will need to furnish your chassis number for this one. If you can post a photo of your current key and transponder. Mercedes are a bit strict on supplying duplicates of keys any how, but to ask from them a modernised version of key; you can dream on.
There are places which may do this modification but first I need to understand what you have.
I expect Gav Helme will have a better insight to this question. I am sure he will respond as soon as he has read this thread.
In '91 MBUK fitted Scorpian alarms when the Gs were delivered. They didn't come with one from the factory. The key just turns the ignition. It sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm if you have a separate transponder.
The MB transponder around the ignition housing for the immob and flip out key didn't start 'till about '96.
You would be looking at an aftermarket system
Clifford do an alarm/immobiliser system that also has remote ignition.

That age of 463 series would just have a standard key from the factory...
Roly is right the dealers used to fit Scorpion units as an extra for insurance purposes
I don't think Scorpion exist anymore as a company...
Are you after a new vehicle key? If so any MB dealer can order you the original factory one (providing locks etc have not been changed - if one key fits all the locks then you're probably ok)
If you're after the Immobilizer / Transponder "key" then you may have to start again...
I think i have a few "NOS" Scorpion basic alarm units kicking around that could be made to fit if you have CL and work it remotely
If you are trying to make the vehicle like some later vans etc with the Transponder built into the key and a Ring around the Ignition Lock then forget it, or the Flip type key, more grief than its worth, even just thinking about it will be trouble!!

i dont care what the new setup looks like as long as its one key with the remote bleeper built in carring both is a pain for me and i can see i will destroy this scorpion beeper thing as its on its last legs

I might have a spare pair of remotes and a box for when it dies...
Uninstall the scorpion alarm, and throw the fob away, problem solved. Use the key as normal to open the door. ( I canceled my gym membership and built the turning of the key into part of my daily fitness routine. Now my fitness levels are up I have added in winding the windows up and down).

wow you guys are on point its a scorpion alarm but i hate having a fob and a key i want both in one be it aftermarket or not i was hoping that i could get a key with a remote built in be it a flip or key with a beeper and get it programmed with the scorpion code you follow ??? the key is easy to cut i just need a key that can be programmed with the scorpoin system
