Can I ask what were you banned for Dave, and by whom. Forums can be of very variable quality and some have moderators who believe that their decisions are beyond question. That's not the case here though, moderators have a gentle touch but we often argue about the types of fuel that most suit the G-wagen, and about modifications especially those of the styling sort

Am surprised and somewhat offended that you would take such an approach to two of the longest standing members of the GWOA and take such a stance. Their total contributions, experience and knowledge is far more that you have to date. With the rarity of G Wagen's in the UK they do come up few and far between and good for you taking your time, however I think you miss the fact that when a 'Request for a G' goes up, a LOT of people go out of their way to keep an eye open for the person looking and to ignore or not recognise their hard work and effort is just plain rude and is generally not see here or any other G Wagen forum.
I think you should at least apologies to both Fred and Ian, as I believe your comments are way out of line, especially after your behavior last time you were on and your attitude on the G Register. By all means carry on looking for your G, but I would strongly suggest that in future you at least thank people for their help and efforts and provide some feed back on the G's you have seen. The aim of this would be to provide other people who are looking some honest feed back.
Failing that, maybe a Landrover or Pajero may be more to your liking as there are more about and you would have a greater choice.

He doesn't want a G wagon. He wants a fight ! The GWOA and all of it's friends, colleagues and associates are here always to offer advice, support and assistance as an act of complete kindness. (arriving here with an "I've just had a couple cans of white lighting down the bus shelter and ready to smash up the village" attitude, warrants no reply)

G restorations made some sarcastic comments about me repairing jasons g wagon saying we shoud get a bed together. What a stupid comment but i speak to him still. Its what people put at the time and im the worst for do it then think after

I think thats it. Even if there are some asshole members o here let them enjoy as they have paid their subs. Try it for 6 months and anything goes as we are loosing members and a couple are very important but it seems to have gone un noticed

That was one comment that would of upset people but i just let it roll. I am fortunate enough to be able to do repairs etc myself an help people. Sometimes i am wrong and i am the first to admit the fact but usually its good
I am no g wagon expert by any means but i can do mechanics very well and basic electronics so who has the better seat. I dont rely on customers as i have a job but i ignored the comment and would speak to g restorations as before
G wagons are simple and the only downfall is you have to do a lot to get to the part you wish to fix. well built and industrial
Last forever , some jobs easy some more in depth
To be totally honest i was going to open a g wagon repair centre in my spare time as my boss is very helpful and has the funds of which we could use for other vehicles also
How things are i think i wont bother. There are customers but i don t need the slanging match of infants if we get it wrong

Losing members, by that you mean paid up members. ?..People paid for a magazine..if there is no magazine then why pay 25 quid ? if that's still the fee these days. If there are other forums willing to offer knowledge for free, then the demise is inevitable. All good things come to an end..even G wagens.
I would just like to point out that Dave Cawley and G Restorations who posted at the start of this thread were referring to being banned from the G Wagon Register Website and not from the GWOA site.
Thanks for your lengthy contribution G Wagon G but some of it it is a bit misdirected, the moderators on this site have a light touch and there is room for everyone and their opinions on the GWOA.

Not too well. The reason I got banned was that I disliked the thread deletion, thread locking, post removals and heavy moderation after I turned down a G Wagen significantly not as described. That stopped me looking for 2 months.
I am very specific in my needs, however sooner or later I will have one. No hurry and I'm looking for near perfection.
I can wait another 2 years if I have to !
