Evening all...

The panel light that used to illuminate the headlight switch on my 1988 460 has expired. I can easily find the switch in the dark but I would like the light switch to illuminate as it used to.

Sliding the heater control knobs to the left has allowed me to prise out the right half of the panel together with the fan switch.

That is now dangling.

I have prised off the left side of the small panel but it remains retained (by the light switch, I think) so that I cannot access the light switch itself.

The light switch includes a central orange light in it to tell me that the spots or rear foglamp are on.

Do I simply pull very hard on the knob until it comes away?

You will understand that I am reluctant to force anything...

Experienced boffins here have helped me before.

Please help me again.

Many thanks,

Nick.
