Well, I haven't spotted this one "in the flesh" but thought that I'd show it here just in case somebody has and/or can shed some light about this mistery.

Jim G., a participant in the US BenzWorld G-Wagen forum posted a message with the following:

G-Wagen Interior
The interior of the 280GE is unusual. I bought the vehicle through Caversham Garage in England about 2 years ago. The story that came along with it was that it was specially prepared for an Arab Royal Family member from new. I don't know if it was actually done in the Graz factory like that or shortly afterward. The vehicle is a little too fancy to beat around offroad, so this past year I bought a 1987 230GE out of Germany for remote camping activities and such.

He also mentions in a subsequent e-mail that "The seats in the vehicle are Recaro Orthopedics with custom leather that is throughout the vehicle including the headliner"

Note the strange fact that it's got a manual gearbox and lacks a rev counter, despite obviously being fully loaded!

The pictures of the interior seem to have been taken in the Caversham Garage yard (see red G with UK numberplate in third pic)

Has anybody out there seen this car in the UK? I'm gong to try to inquire through GWagen.co.uk but wanted to explore all possibilities.

Cheers

Custom 280 GE LWB

Hi Jesus
I remember when it was on Cavershams' website a couple of years ago.
Gave it some thought myself at the time.
